Weekend weather: Sunny and seasonal for your outdoor recreational activities

Need to clear out the gutters before winter weather clogs them up again with slush and ice? Want to get in one last hike about town before the need to bundle up like a Himalayan Sherpa? Haven’t bagged your buck yet?

Or do you just want to barbeque on the back deck in relative comfort?

This is your weekend to do any of those things.

For the next several days – through the weekend, at least – the greater Spokane area will see sunny skies and moderate temperatures suited for any and all outdoor activities.

Thursday will be sunny with a high around 57 with northeast winds 5 to 7 mph. Temps will dip into the mid-30s overnight.

Highs on Saturday and Sunday in and around Spokane will reach the mid to upper 50s with lows both nights in the upper 30s. Winds will be light and variable from the north-northeast.

It’s the same story for Coeur d’Alene. Sunny skies will prevail throughout the period with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the low to mid 30s.

In the northern counties in Washington and Idaho, daytime highs will be in the mid 50s with the nighttime lows in the low 30s.

Over the past week Spokane has reported 1.46 inches of precipitation and 2.01 for the month of October. The historical monthly average for October is 1.18 inches. With no rain in the forecast for the rest of the month it appears we’ve hit our cap slightly above a normal October.
