Inslees to don mountaineer garb for Halloween

OLYMPIA – Gov. Jay Inslee and his wife Trudi will dress up as mountain climbers to greet trick-or-treaters at the Governor’s Mansion Tuesday evening.

Governors and their spouses traditionally pick a theme and don costumes for Halloween, and Inslee’s office recently announced this year the mansion will have a mountaineer theme. “I hope everyone braves the wilds of Mount Capital Campus to join Trudi and me at the summit,” he said in a press release.

They’ll hand out Washington candies and apples that have been donated to the annual event.

Inslee made references to climbing a mountain and recognized famed Washington mountain climber Jim Whittaker in his inaugural address last January. In recent years, the Inslees have dressed up as characters from “Ghostbusters” and superheroes.
