Annual Spokesman-Review basketball preview section hits newsstands on Thursday

Over the past two decades, the Gonzaga men’s basketball team has mastered the art of the rebuild. After landmark seasons in which the Zags suffered heavy losses – think of teams led by Adam Morrison, Kelly Olynyk and Kevin Pangos – they’ve always found a way to reload.

This season should be no different. Despite losing Zach Collins, Przemek Karnowski and Nigel Williams-Goss, history suggests the Zags will be just fine.

The story unfolds in Thursday’s annual basketball section, available in Thursday’s print edition of The Spokesman-Review. Also, columnist John Blanchette looks at how Gonzaga’s recruiting has evolved and how “program guys” – whether four-year players or one-and-dones – are still all about fit. You’ll also find an in-depth look at the new videoboards at Gonzaga’s McCarthey Athletic Center.

Also in the section, we preview the Gonzaga women, as well as men’s and women’s teams from Washington State and Washington in the Pac-12, to Eastern Washington and Idaho in the Big Sky. We’ve also got season outlooks for Whitworth, North Idaho College and the Community Colleges of Spokane.
