Spokane Edible Tree Project hosts fourth annual “friend-raiser” Friday

Spokane Edible Tree Project is hosting its fourth annual “friend-raiser” event Friday.

The event features a silent auction, live music and refreshments. Proceeds benefit Spokane Edible Tree Project’s food and hunger relief programs.

Spokane Edible Tree Project collects unused crops from fruit and nut trees, and donates their harvest to those in need through partnerships with food banks, community kitchens and other organizations addressing hunger in the Spokane area.

Its fundraising event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Philanthropy Center, 1020 W. Riverside Ave. Tickets are $30 each and available through brownpapertickets.com. Children under 12 get in free. For more info, visit spokaneedibletreeproject.org.
