Slowpitch: Sabina Akiu starts triple play and North Central tops Shadle Park

North Central 7, Shadle Park 4: Sabina Akiu went the distance and visiting North Central (1-1) beat Shadle Park (0-1) on Tuesday. Akiu also started a game-ending 1-3-6 triple play.

University 9, Mt. Spokane 3: Brooklyn Hecker went 3 for 3 with a double and Brianna Hecker went 2 for 4 with three RBIs as University (2-0) beat visiting Mt. Spokane (1-1). Brittney Coladonato went 2 for 3 with a two-run home run for the Wildcats.

Central Valley 10, Mead 9: Grace Stumbough collected three hits with three runs and an RBI and Central Valley (2-0) edged visiting Mead (1-1). Peyton Cushner finished 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs for Mead, while Alyssa Gamache went 4 for 4 with a double.

East Valley 9, Lewis and Clark 6: Courtney Mitchell pounded out three hits and East Valley (1-1) defeated visiting Lewis and Clark (1-1). Carolyn Johnson led the Tigers with three hits, including two doubles.

Ferris 8, Gonzaga Prep 4: Jailyn Strauss hit a two-run home run in the third inning and visiting Ferris (1-1) topped Gonzaga Prep (0-1). Gracie Cunneely had four hits for G-Prep.
