Spokane-based Stoneway Electric Supply announced Thursday it has purchased a Kent, Wash., industrial distributor.

The electrical wholesale distributor’s acquisition of H.D. Campbell Co., a distributor of motor control and automation equipment used in manufacturing, was finalized Aug. 31.

“With this acquisition, we take a significant strategic step forward by adding additional expertise to our team and securing new industrial customers, business and product lines,” Stoneway President Jeff Corrick said in a new release.

Stoneway employs 300 across its 17-branch network, with offices in Spokane, Pullman, Sandpoint, Couer d’Alene and 13 other Washington cities. Campbell’s three employees in Kent will be absorbed by Stoneway’s office there, said Vito DiMaio, the company’s director of marketing and employee development.

Stoneway, with headquarters at 402 N. Perry St., was founded in 1974. It is a subsidiary of Crescent Electric Supply, the eighth-largest electrical distribution company in the U.S, according to the release.
