Spokane Chiefs end preseason slate with win over Tri-City

Hayden Ostir scored his fifth goal of the preseason and the Spokane Chiefs topped the Tri-City Americans 6-2 in the final Western Hockey League preseason game on Saturday at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

Ostir’s power play goal 15 seconds into the third period made it 5-2 and stemmed a two-goal run for the Americans.

Riley McKay added a goal 4 minutes later and Tri-City couldn’t mount a comeback.

Riley Woods had a pair of goals, while Ethan McIndoe and Taylor Ross each punched one in. McIndoe, Milos Fafrak and Ty Smith all contributed two assists.

Dawson Weatherill stopped all 14 shots he faced in 30 minutes, 32 seconds and Donovan Buskey made 11 saves finishing up.
