The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman in south Spokane County late Thursday night.

A man called 911 shortly before 11 p.m. to report that his friend was drunk and had passed out and was now unresponsive. First responders arrived at a home east of Cheney’s Spangle and Depot Springs roads and found the man attempting to give a woman CPR, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Paramedics were unable to revive her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
