Another Sunday, another defensive donnybrook.

Another yawner if you’re an offensive purist.

It took the Seahawks, who trail the Titans 9-7 at the half in Nashville, until the 1:15 mark in the second quarter to reach the end zone.

A five-play 86-yard drive was capped off by Russell Wilson connecting with Doug Baldwin on a four-yard touchdown connection.

Meanwhile, Seattle’s defense was its usual stingy self, keeping Marcus Mariota and Co. out of the end zone.

Tennesee, which has one of the better offensive fronts in the league, saw its run game held to a meager 30 yards on the ground.

Such notable things from the first half include…

  • For the third straight week, Seattle has held its opponent scoreless in the first quarter.
  • On a late second-quarter drive, Wilson, working out of a hurry-up offense, connected with Doug Baldwin and C.J. Prosise on a pair of deep balls, setting up x-yard touchdown pass to Baldwn to give Seattle a halftime lead. Both of Seattle’s touchdowns this season have come out of the hurry-up.
  • Rookie running back Chris Carson registered his first career start.
  • The first of three Titans field goals was mostly due to a pair of penalties on Richard Sherman.
  • When it appeared as if Kam Chancellor picked of Marcus Mariota late in the first quarter, a pass interference call was called Sherman for mauling Erick Decker on his route.
  • Sherman compounded the penalty by taking off his helmet and jawing at the official, drawing an Sherman was also called for a late hit after launching into Mariota as he was out of bounds. Tenneseee players immediately got in Sherman’s face for the hit, and were also called unsportsmanlike conduct, and the penalties offset each other.
  • Tennessee (19:20) had the ball nearly twice as long as Seattle (10:40).
