A man died Tuesday in north Spokane after his motorcycle collided with a car in the 500 block of East Holland Avenue behind the Northpointe Shopko.

Spokane Police Department spokesman Officer John O’Brien said the motorcyclist was heading west on Holland when a vehicle pulled out of a parking lot into the street. The car and the motorcycle collided and the rider died at the scene, O’Brien said.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses and will check neighboring businesses for video surveillance footage, O’Brien said. The driver of the car is cooperating and does not seem to be impaired, he said.

“We will do an extensive investigation,” he said.

The identity of the motorcycle rider will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner after an autopsy.
