Sticker saying ‘The KKK Wants You’ found in Portland school

Associated Press

PORTLAND – A Portland student says he found a sticker in one of his school’s bathrooms that reads, “The KKK Wants You.”

The Oregonian/OregonLive reported the student told Roosevelt High School officials about the sticker he found on Tuesday, who in return issued a press release confirming the incident.

School administrators are reviewing video of the bathroom’s entrance.

Roosevelt High School Principal Filip Hristic called the image appalling and offensive.

Hristic says the school has done a lot to reinforce its commitment to diversity and inclusion, but he says the national context has shifted.

Hristic says it appears “that rhetoric is penetrating through the minds if not the hearts of some students.”
