Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officers bust illegal shooters

ENFORCEMENT – Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife police seized weapons from illegal target shooters, last week.

While paroling near Stemilt Basin, near Quincy, two WDFW officers came across three men target shooting by Lily Lake. Initially the men were shooting clay pigeons but then started shooting newly installed irrigation district signs, according to a WDFW Facebook post.

The officers continued to watch as the men entered their vehicle. The men planned to drive down the road shooting signs. One of the men threw an empty beer can into the bushes. The officers followed and watched one of the passengers shoot two signs with a shotgun.

At that point the officers stopped the men. Three weapons were seized and multiple charges filed including: malicious mischief, loaded rifle in a motor vehicle, shooting from a motor vehicle and littering.
