In response to strong reader interest, the Northwest Passages Book Club has added a second book talk and signing with bestselling mystery author J.A. Jance.

Tickets are available for the author’s Mystery Matinee event, which starts at 3 p.m. Wednesday at The Spokesman-Review building. General admission tickets are available at www.spokane7tickets.com.

In March, Jance released “Duel Before Death,” the latest thriller in the Ali Reynolds series.

Jance also joins the Northwest Passages Book Club for An Evening of Mystery at 7 p.m Wednesday. The evening event is sold out and has a wait list.

In other book club news: Tickets are now available for the May 16 evening of storytelling with author Jess Walter.

Walter, a Spokane native, is the author of eight books, including “Beautiful Ruins,” a New York Times best-seller. This book club event is a fundraiser to benefit Spark Central, a local nonprofit that offers educational and creativity programs. General admission tickets are $10; the VIP ticket package is $40.

Tickets for all Northwest Passages Book Club events can be found at www.spokane7tickets.com.
