Baseball roundup: Nick Naccarato’s rally-killing catch helped Mt. Spokane win over University

Nick Naccarato’s diving catch in left-center led to a double play, thwarting a sixth inning rally, and league-leading Mt. Spokane (13-2, 12-1) edged visiting University (1-13, 0-13) 3-2 in a Greater Spokane League game on Thursday.

Gonzaga Prep 9, North Central 4: Connor Coballes launched a two-run home run among four hits and scored four runs and the visiting Bullpups (12-3, 11-2) defeated the Indians (5-10, 4-9).

Mead 15, Lewis and Clark 1: Mason Wells went 2 for 2 with a double and five RBIs and the Panthers (11-3, 10-3) defeated the visiting Tigers (5-10, 4-9). Mead put up 11 runs in the bottom of the first.

Central Valley 9, Shadle Park 0: Braden Hamilton homered and doubled to drive in three runs and the visiting Bears (11-4, 9-4) blanked the Highlanders (8-7, 6-7).

Ferris 12, Rogers 2: Eric Mast went 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBI and the Saxons (8-7, 7-6) beat the visiting Pirates (3-12, 2-11). Matt Postlewait went 2 for 3 with two RBI for Rogers.

Great Northern League

Clarkston at Pullman: Koby Blunt scattered four hits and the visiting Bantams (8-6, 4-2) beat the Greyhounds (14-3, 6-2).

Northeast A League

Chewelah 13, Lakeside 1: Gavin Parrott struck out six and allowed one run over six innings and the Cougars (9-3, 5-1) beat the Eagles (3-9, 2-3) at Avista Stadium.

Northeast 2B

Springdale 12, Reardan 4: Brady Erickson went 3 for 4 with three runs, one RBI, and two stolen bases, and the Chargers (3-10, 3-7) beat the visiting Indians (0-9, 0-7).

Springdale 12, Reardan 0: Enoch Clemmer went 3 for 4 with two runs and three RBIs and the Chargers (4-10, 4-7) defeated the visiting Indians (0-10, 0-7).

Idaho

Lakeland 12, Sandpoint 6 (Gm 1): Garrett Moen went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and the Hawks (10-5, 1-0) beat the visiting Bulldogs (6-3, 1-2) in an Inland Empire League game.

Sandpoint 12, Lakeland 2 (Gm 2): Stockton went 3 for 4 with three runs and the visiting Bulldogs (7-3, 2-2) beat the Hawks (10-6, 1-1).
