Highland Park United Methodist, Spokane Buddhist Temple to offer samplings of Japanese cuisine

There are two opportunities to sample Japanese cuisine this weekend, the annual Sukiyaki Dinner at Highland Park United Methodist Church and the Teriyaki Fest Spring Food Festival at the Spokane Buddhist Temple.

The church’s 69th annual dinner will be served from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the church, 611 S. Garfield St. There will also be a bake sale, homemade crafts and Japanese displays.

The Teriyaki Fest will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the temple, located at 927 S. Perry St. The menu includes teriyaki chicken and tofu, sushi and Japanese desserts. Prices range from $5 to $15 depending on the item purchased.
