Dick’s Sporting Goods has announced it will destroy all assault-style rifles at the company’s distribution centers.

It’s the next step in the company’s new gun sales policy.

The chain in February stopped selling assault-style rifles and banned the sale of all guns to anyone under 21 following the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

The retailer operates a store near the Spokane Valley Mall.

The destruction of assault-style rifles was first reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, which added that a retailer typically returns unsold merchandise to the manufacturer. But in this case, Dick’s has decided to destroy it.
