Baseball roundup: Keegan Cottrell’s grand slam leads Freeman over Deer Park, Scotties undefeated in league

Keegan Cottrell belted a sixth-inning grand slam and Freeman (14-2, 8-0) beat visiting Deer Park (8-5, 5-4) 7-6 in a Northeast A league game on Tuesday.

Chewelah 6, Colville 0: Gavin Perrott tossed 6 and 2/3 innings of one-hit ball, striking out seven, and the Cougars (12-3, 8-1) blanked the visiting Indians (6-8, 5-4).

Lakeside 4, Medical Lake 1: Drew Shuler tossed five scoreless innings, striking out seven and allowing just one hit, and the Eagles (4-11, 3-5) downed the visiting Cardinals (3-11, 1-8).

Riverside 8, Newport 6: Clay Wilson went 2 for 4 with a triple and the Rams (6-6, 5-4) beat the visiting Grizzlies (1-9, 0-9).

Greater Spokane League

Central Valley 11, Mt. Spokane 1: Matt Schwarz went 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs and had a key defensive play in the 4th, and the Bears (13-5, 11-5) defeated the visiting Wildcats (15-3, 14-2).

Gonzaga Prep 7, University 2: Ryun Cross tossed a complete game with five strikeouts and the visiting Bullpups (14-4, 13-3) defeated the Titans (2-15, 1-15) .

Shadle Park 8, Mead 2: Miguel Resendiz-Stowe went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs and the visiting Highlanders (9-9, 8-8) defeated the Panthers (12-5, 11-5).

Lewis and Clark 3, Ferris 0: Reliever Ryan Schmitz struck out the side in the top of the 6th with the bases loaded and the Tigers (6-12, 5-11) blanked the visiting Saxons (10-8, 9-7) at Hart Field.

North Central 15, Rogers 9: Zach Cramer went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs and the visiting Indians (7-11, 6-10) beat the Pirates (3-15, 2-14). Josh Slawter slugged a three-run home run for Rogers and Tristan Davidson went 3 for 4 with three RBIs for North Central.

Northeast 2B

Colfax 14, Northwest Christian 2 (Gm 1): Cal Gregory scattered six hits over five innings and the visiting Bulldogs (15-4, 10-2) raced past the Crusaders (7-10, 6-3).

Colfax 13, Northwest Christian 0 (Gm 2): Kyle Appel stroked four hits, including a pair of doubles, and the visiting Bulldogs (16-4, 11-2) blanked the Crusaders (7-11, 6-4).

Kettle Falls 5, Liberty 2: Jordon Clendenon went 2 for 3 with a triple and the visiting Bulldogs (13-4, 8-3) beat the Lancers (6-7, 4-7).

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 3, Odessa 1: (Gm 1): Brayton Schafer hit a double to go up 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth and the Warriors (18-0, 12-0) defeated the visiting Tigers (16-1, 12-1). Dalton Kentner pitched seven innings with one earned run and 10 strikeouts.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 6, Odessa 5 (Gm 2): Maguire Isaak hit the go-ahead two RBI single in the bottom of the sixth and the Warriors (18-0, 12-0) beat the visiting Tigers (16-2, 12-2).

Selkirk 17, Northport 1 (Gm 1): Jay Link hit 2 for 3 with five RBIs and the visiting Rangers (8-6, 8-4) defeated the Mustangs (0-9, 0-9).

Selkirk 18, Northport 5 (Gm 2): Aiden Penney and Jay Link both had four RBIs and the visiting Rangers (8-6, 8-4) beat the Mustangs (0-9, 0-9).

Southeast 1B

Colton 13, Touchet 7: Cameron Bean went 4 for 4 with five RBIs and a three-run home run and the Wildcats (11-4, 9-0) beat the visiting Indians (0-10, 0-8). Jackson Meyer tossed five shutout innings in relief, allowing one hit to earn the win for Colton.
