Ex-Bellevue cop arrested again in domestic violence case

Associated Press

SEATTLE – A former Bellevue police officer has been arrested again in a domestic violence case.

SeattlePI.com reported Friday that King County prosecutors confirmed that 48-year-old John Kivlin was arrested on an additional tampering charge and two more counts of violation of a court order.

Court documents say the most recent violations happened while he was out of jail Aug. 10 and Aug. 14. He is accused of sending a woman multiple text messages and emails.

Kivlin was already charged with fourth-degree assault, tampering with a witness and two counts of violation of a court order for allegedly disobeying a no-contact order with the woman.

He’s now back in jail, held on $500,000 bail.

Kivlin had been on paid leave after his initial arrest in April, but Bellevue Police said Friday that he resigned two weeks ago after 16 years with the agency.
