Since its debut in December 1946, Frank Capra’s “It’s A Wonderful Life” has been the staple of all holiday staples.

You know the story: The down and out George Bailey (James Stewart), who has spent his life putting others first, is contemplating suicide on Christmas Eve.

Before he can act, he’s interrupted by his guardian angel Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers), who shows Bailey how life for his friends and family would be different had Bailey never been born.

StageWest Community Theatre will stage “It’s A Wonderful Life” as a live radio broadcast, during which actors will portray multiple characters and create sound effects in real time.

The production opens Friday and runs through Dec. 16. To make reservations for the Dec. 15 dinner theater, call (509) 309-9929.
