Reader photos: Ice, ice baby

Local ice climbers headed to the hills this past weekend looking for waterfall ice. Nick Sweeney and Zach Turner drove to Hyalite Canyon in Montana and met up with Ben Ward. Sweeney said the climbing was good although it’s “definitely early season, some thin and brittle ice had to be dealt with. All the classic routes are in good shape to climb.”

During the last weekend of November, Chris Celentano and Ben Read adventured in the Idaho Selkirks. The ice was thin but “getting better” Celentano said.
