Albi vote was incomplete

For all of the chitter-chatter about where to put the new sports stadium, it should be noted that there is one major point people are missing.

When the ballots were counted on Nov. 6, it is important to mention that the voters in zip code 99223 were not given the opportunity to place an advisory vote. It was not on our ballot. We were allowed to vote for the bond and if we wanted to spend our money. We just weren’t given a chance to tell you where we wanted that stadium to be built.

Doesn’t it seem ironic that the families located south of the city weren’t able to say whether they would like a stadium up north or downtown? All of the articles in the paper recently about how the advisory vote ended up being 2-to-1 Albi are missing a key component. No one has mentioned that many families of LC and Ferris students were not given the chance to vote for the location.

Before the school board decides where to put the new stadium, please consider polling all of the involved people. You might get a more accurate count of where families really want the stadium … downtown!
