Boys basketball: Alex Stith leads Medical Lake past Riverside

Alex Stith scored 21 points and Medical Lake (4-3, 2-1) defeated visiting Riverside 72-43 on Saturday in Northeast 1A action.

Jaxon Betker led Riverside (1-5, 0-2) with 14 points.

Northeast 1A

Deer Park 75, Colville 50: Isaac Burglund had 30 points and the Stags (7-0, 3-0) defeated the visiting Indians (0-6, 0-2). Kobe Cunningham led Colville with 13 points.

Newport 65, Freeman 56: Michael Owen scored 22 points and the visiting Grizzlies (4-0, 2-0) defeated the Scotties (2-5, 0-2). Kaleb Ohler led Freeman with 18 points.

Northeast 2B

Kettle Falls 74, Wilbur-Creston 59: Cade McKern scored 21 points to lead the Bulldogs (5-3, 2-1) past the visiting Wildcats (3-4, 0-2). Morgan Keller added 18 points for Kettle Falls and Conner Droger scored 18 points for Wilbur-Creston.

St. George’s 71, Northwest Christian 63: After missing three games with a sprained ankle, Erik Farias returned with 23 points and seven assists to lead the Dragons (7-0) to a victory over the visiting Crusaders (5-1).

Colfax 68, Asotin 62: Carson Cloaninger poured in 36 points to lead the visiting Bulldogs (5-1, 2-0) past the Panthers (2-3, 0-2). Thomas Martin scored 21 to lead Asotin.

Northeast 1B

Odessa 70, Wellpinit 30: Ryan Moffet scored 36 points and the visiting Tigers (3-0) defeated the Redskins (2-3).

Valley Christian 66 Columbia 44: Sam Reese scored 21 points and the visiting Panthers (3-3, 1-2) defeated the Lions (1-5, 0-3). Corbin Nelson led Columbia with 16 points.

Selkirk 77, Northport 31: Thomas Huttle scored 15 points and the Rangers (3-3, 3-1) beat the visiting Mustangs (1-6, 1-4). Zach Bruland led Northport with nine points.

Southeast 1B

Oakesdale 69, Prescott 41: Wesley Castanon made five 3-pointers and led the Nighthawks (4-3, 4-0) to victory over the visiting Tigers (5-3, 1-2).

Colton 55, Pomeroy 44: Reese Chadwick and Parker Druffel each scored 20 points to lead the Wildcats (4-1, 2-1) past the visiting Pirates (2-5, 0-3). Jace Gwinn scored 17 points to lead Pomeroy.

Garfield-Palouse 77, St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse 39: Ely Hawkins scored 18 points and the visiting Vikings (4-3, 4-0) topped the Eagles (1-4, 0-3). Owen Swannack led St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse with 17 points.

Nonleague

Sandpoint 56, Lake City 51: Ryan Roos scored 20 points and the visiting Bulldogs (3-3) beat the Timberwolves (0-5). Chris Irvin led Lake City with 12 points.

Wallace 75, Priest River 60: Zack Welch scored 28 points and the visiting Miners (6-0) raced past the Spartans (0-5). Erik Brackebusch added 27 points for Wallace. Brandon McCracken led Priest River with 26 points.
