Thank you, IMAX

This letter is a response to “Demolition of Imax building expected in March,” (Jan. 21) by Nicholas Deshais.

The IMAX Theater will soon be razed and the rubble will form the terraced seating of the Pavilion’s amphitheater. The Japanese Haiku poet Joso expresses this transition so well:

Bath-tub firewood…

Thanks for this

Final service

Faithful old scarecrow

The IMAX Theater was not a residual structure from Expo ‘74, but during its many years of viability, it provided entertainment and income for Riverfront Park. Thank you to all those who created, built, managed and worked to make it a success.

The poem is taken from “The Four Seasons.” Published by Peter Pauper Press. 1958.
