District 8 girls: Central Valley routs Pasco in first-round matchup

Lexie Hull scored 24 points, Lacie Hull added 15 and Central Valley (21-0) routed visiting Pasco (8-14) in a 4A District 8 first round matchup on Wednesday.

The Bears, rated No. 1 in Class 4A in WIAA’s RPI calculations, advance to host University in a semifinal on Saturday.

Kate Sams and Hailey Christopher added 12 points apiece for CV, which held the Bulldogs to nine points in each half. The Bears led 27-4 after the first quarter.

Allexus Montelongo paced Pasco with nine points.

University 64, Richland 50: Claire Dingus scored 22 points, Elli Boni added 18 and the visiting Titans (14-6) topped the Bombers (9-11). Jordyn and Jayda Clark had 12 points apiece for Richland. The Bombers host Pasco in a loser-out on Saturday.

Chiawana 62, Gonzaga Prep 41: Macey Morales scored 15 points, Kenedy Cartwright added 13 and the No. 9-rated Riverhawks (18-3) beat the visiting Bullpups (13-8). Demi Howlett led Gonzaga Prep with 12 points. Chiawana hosts Lewis and Clark a semifinal on Saturday.

Lewis and Clark 59, Walla Walla 41: Dominique Arquette scored 20 points, Kaylee Bishop added 15 and the No. 14-rated Tigers (14-5) beat the Blue Devils (12-9). Meghan Yenney had 21 points to lead Walla Walla. The Blue Devils host a loser-out game against Gonzaga Prep on Saturday.
