District 8 boys: Gonzaga Prep and Ferris cruise to semifinals

Anton Watson scored 19 points, Sam Lockett had 13 points with 10 assists and Gonzaga Prep (21-0) beat visiting Pasco (3-19) 71-26 in a 4A District 8 first round matchup on Wednesday.

The Bullpups are rated No. 1 in Class 4A in WIAA’s RPI calculation. Devin Culp grabbed 10 rebounds to go with six points.

Kashon Tate led Pasco with eight points.

G-Prep hosts Chiawana in a district semifinal game on Saturday.

Chiawana 79, Lewis and Clark 68: Austin Penny scored 20 points with four 3-pointers and the Riverhawks (11-10) beat the visiting No. 8-rated Tigers (13-8).

Naje Smith scored 19 points and Griffin Effenberger added 17 for the Tigers.

Lewis and Clark hosts Pasco in a district loser-out game on Saturday.

Richland 79, University 44: Ryan Wagar scored 17 points and the No. 4-rated Bombers (21-0) trounced the visiting No. 19-rated Titans (11-11).

Cody Sanderson added 16 points and 7-foot-2 Riley Sorn had 15. Tanner Christensen paced U-Hi with 14 points.

Richland hosts Ferris winner in a semifinal on Saturday.

Ferris 67, Walla Walla 41: Shamrock Campbell scored 23 points, Michael Ervin added 18 and the No. 6-rated Saxons (18-3) cruised past the visiting No. 18-rated Blue Devils (13-8).

Tyler Greene led Walla Walla with 11 points. Walla Walla hosts University in a loser-out on Saturday.
