Wife of missing CdA boater arrested on suspicion of grand theft, forgery

Former North Idaho Housing Coalition director Lori Isenberg was arrested Monday night on suspicion of grand theft and 40 counts of forgery, according to a Kootenai County jail booking log. A police report outlining details of the 64-year-old woman’s arrest was not immediately available. Isenberg, who led NIHC since its inception nearly a decade ago, parted ways with the nonprofit in late January for undisclosed reasons. An audit of NIHC’s finances followed Isenberg’s departure, according to NIHC president Kerri Thoreson. Isenberg is the wife of missing boater Larry Isenberg, who reportedly fell into Lake Coeur d’Alene’s frigid waters Feb. 13 while on a boat with Lori Isenberg. Larry Isenberg’s disappearance was reported by Lori Isenberg, who told the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office that her husband had fallen into the water while attempting to fix the motor on their boat. According to an incident report, Lori Isenberg said she looked for her husband for “maybe two hours” near Powderhorn Bay before calling for help. Larry Isenberg was reported missing just hours after the Coeur d’Alene Press reported that Lori Isenberg and NIHC had parted ways and that the nonprofit was conducting an audit.
