Idaho boys: Genesis Prep advances to 1ADII championship game

Jonny Hillman and Kon Ajang scored 15 points apiece and Genesis Prep (18-4) eliminated Clark Fork (3-13) 83-32 in an Idaho 1A Division II District 1 semifinal game at Lakeland HS in Rathdrum on Wednesday.

Genesis Prep advances to play Lakeside on Friday in the district title game.

The Jaguars own a pair of lopsided victories over the Knights in regular season play this season.

Smith Mwinuka added 13 for the Jaguars.

Lakeside 85, Mullan 40: The Knights (13-8) eliminated the Tigers (5-10) in a district semifinal.

4A District I-II

Moscow 66, Lakeland 47: Gabe Quinnett scored 20 points and the Bears (9-13) defeated the Hawks (13-8) in the first of a three-game championship series at North Idaho College on Wednesday.

Game 2 is Friday evening.

Moscow owns three victories over Lakeland this season.

Dylan Knight led Lakeland with 12 points and Kaiden Davis added 10.

3A District I-II

Kellogg 69, Timberlake 51: The top-seeded Wildcats (17-3) beat the second-seeded Tigers (9-13) in the district title game at North Idaho College.

Kellogg earns the district’s top seed to the state tournament, which starts March 1.

Bonners Ferry 59, Priest River 42: Chris Sabin scored 22 points and the third-seeded Badgers (10-12) eliminated the No. 4 seed Spartans (2-20) in a district consolation game.

Bonners Ferry advances to play Timberlake on Friday at 7 p.m. for second place in the district second-place game to earn a berth to state. The Badgers have lost to the Tigers three times this season, including Monday’s 51-39 loss in the tourney’s first round.

Keegan Hegel led Priest River with 18 points.

2A District I-II

St. Maries 67, Grangeville 40: Jackson Pritchard scored 17 points and the Lumberjacks (17-3) defeated the Bulldogs (15-6) at Troy HS in the first game of a best-of-three series with a berth to state on the line.

Game 2 is Thursday at 6 p.m. at Troy.

Glover Buell added 12 points for St. Maries while Jacob Vanderwall led Grangeville with 11 points.
