Girls basketball: Kinsley Barrington’s 17 points leads University over Gonzaga Prep

Kinsley Barrington scored 17 points and visiting University (6-5, 3-2) beat Gonzaga Prep (7-4, 3-2) 63-50 in a Greater Spokane League game.

Ellie Boni added 16 points for the Titans while Kerynica Keyes led the Bullpups with 14.

Northeast A

Freeman 48, Riverside 18: Anna Chisholm scored 12 points and the Scotties (5-4, 3-1) beat the visiting Rams (4-7, 0-4). Ava West had five points for the Rams.

Medical Lake 64, Newport 43: Jayda Noble scored 21 points and the visiting Cardinals (5-4, 3-2) defeated the Grizzlies (5-3, 2-2). Joelin Nenema paced Newport with 19 points.

Lakeside (WA) 55, Colville 40: Sienna Swannack scored 20 points and the visiting Eagles (7-3, 4-0) defeated the Indians (4-6, 1-3). Kaitlyn Petrey had 13 for the Indians.

Chewelah 39, Deer Park 37: Krislyn Koler scored 14 points and the visiting Cougars (5-2, 1-2) defeated the Stags (3-5, 1-3). Hava Fairbanks had a game-high 16 for the Stags.

Nonleague

Eastmont 57, North Central 55 (OT): Bryn O’Rourke scored 20 points and the Wildcats (6-4) defeated the visiting Indians (6-5) in nonleague action. Quincy McDeid paced North Central with 16 points.

Oakesdale 56, Inchelium 48: Logan Reed scored 23 points and the Nighthawks (9-1) defeated the Hornets (7-3). Emma Perry also pitched in 17 points for Oakesdale, while Meika Heath led Inchelium with 23.

Valley Christian 55, Tekoa-Rosalia 43: Phoebe Trigsted scored 25 points and the Panthers (6-4) beat host Timberwolves (1-6) 55-43 in a nonleague game on Tuesday. Kendra Pope had eight blocks with four steals for the Panthers and Veranica Alexeyenko added eight rebounds.

5A Inland Empire League

Post Falls 58, Lewiston 26: Melody Kempton scored 15 points and the Trojans (8-1, 1-0) rolled past the visiting Bengals (11-3, 1-1). Cameron Cady led the Bengals with seven points.

Lake City 52, Coeur d’Alene 23: Keara Simpson scored 17 points and the Timberwolves (8-6, 1-0) defeated the visiting Vikings (2-7, 0-2). Rey Louden scored 11 for the Vikings.
