Spokane County Jail inmate in critical condition after suicide attempt

UPDATED: Wed., Jan. 3, 2018, 9:58 p.m.

A Spokane County Jail inmate is in critical condition after attempting suicide in his cell, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy found the inmate motionless and not breathing Wednesday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office said, before corrections jail staff began life-saving efforts.

The inmate was then transported to a hospital. His family has been notified.
