Spokane County home sales dip in December; prices rise

Home sales in Spokane County dipped during December, but housing prices continued to rise.

A total of 628 single-family homes and condos sold during the month, compared to 669 during December 2016, the Spokane Association of Realtors reported.

The average sales price was $233,302 in December, up 10.9 percent compared to a year ago.

The median sales price was $215,000 last month, up 12.5 percent from a year ago.

The inventory of homes for sale remains tight, which is putting pressure on prices. About 1,010 properties were listed in December, the Realtors association reported.
