Boys basketball: Medical Lake beats Colville behind Derek Steege’s 22 points

Derek Steege scored 22 points and visiting Medical Lake (4-4 NEA) beat Colville (1-6) 74-69 in a Northeast 1A league game on Saturday.

Ty Sandaine led Colville with 17 points.

Northeast 2B

Colfax 58, Wilbur-Creston 43: Carson Cloaninger scored 16 points and the visiting Bulldogs (8-2 NE 2B) downed the Wildcats (2-6). Layne Smith led the Wildcats with nine points.

Asotin 62, Kettle Falls 60: Jace Aldous scored 17 points and the Panthers (4-5 NE 2B) edged the Bulldogs (2-7). Marcelo Mendez led the Bulldogs with 18 points.

Springdale 65, Reardan 58: Austin Howder scored 33 points and the Chargers (3-6 NE 2B) beat the Indians (2-7). Andrew Aslept led Reardan with 21 points.

Northeast 1B

Odessa 84, Inchelium 39: Ryan Moffet scored 27 points with five steals and the Tigers (9-0 NE 1B) defeated the visiting Hornets (0-10). Robert McKinney scored 20 points to lead Inchelium.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 71, Cusick 53: Maguire Isaak scored 25 points and the visiting Warriors (8-1 NE 1B) defeated the Panthers (8-2). Kobe Seymour paced Cusick with 25 points.

Wellpinit 83, Republic 39: AJ Bighead scored 21 points and the visiting Redskins (7-3 NE 1B) beat the Tigers (3-7). Joe Koepke led Republic with 10 points.

Columbia 73, Curlew 34: August Wagner scored 12 points and the Lions (6-3 NE 1B) beat the visiting Cougars (1-11). Spencer Fanning and Justin Hanks led Curlew with nine points apiece.

Selkirk 62, Valley Christian 56 (OT): Ryan Zimmerman’s late 3-pointer sent the game into overtime, and the visiting Rangers (6-4 NE 1B) overcame the Panthers (4-6). Jay Link and Justin Krabbenhoft scored 14 apiece for the Rangers.

Nonleague

St. George’s 59, Newport 50: Noah Halliburton-Link and Xander Werkman scored 16 points apiece and the visiting Dragons beat the Grizzlies. Danny Bradbury scored 19 points for Newport.

Davenport 71, Tekoa-Rosalia 51: Jay Burt scored 15 points and the Gorillas beat the visiting Timberwolves. Peyton Buchanan had 10 points with 10 rebounds for Davenport while Garrett Naught led Tekoa-Rosalia with 21 points.

Southeast 1B

Pomeroy 40, Touchet 21: Hogan Heytvelt scored 12 points and the visting Pirates (8-0 SE 1B) beat the Indians (3-5). Justin Warren and Hayden Schaeffer had five points apiece for Touchet.

Garfield-Palouse 52, St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse 43: Blake Jones scored 16 points and the visiting Vikings (6-1 SE 1B) rolled by the Eagles (1-5). Griffin Parrish led the Eagles with 15.

Oakesdale 64, Waitsburg 22: Matt Hockett scored 13 points and the visiting Nighthawks (6-2 SE 1B) beat the Cardinals (0-7). Brayden Miller led Waitsburg with nine points.

Colton 62, Prescott 55.

Idaho

Timberlake (ID) 48, Priest River 47: Sheldon Kistler sank the go-ahead jumper with 9 seconds left and the Tigers (2-1 IML) beat the Spartans (0-3). Kistler led Timberlake with 14 points and Caden Brennan had 14 points for Priest River.

St. Maries 61, Orofino 27: Jackson Pritchard and Dan Howard each tallied 12 points and the Lumberjacks (2-0 CIL) defeated the visiting Maniacs (0-1) in a Central Idaho League game. Peyton Daily paced Orofino with 10 points.

Genesis Prep 82, Wallace 27: Jonny Hillman scored 39 points and the Jaguars defeated the Miners in a nonleague game.
