The Spokesman-Review

Visit Spokane booked a record number of hotel room nights in 2017 for future convention business.

More than 101,000 room nights were booked by the sales team last year, compared to 79,683 rooms booked in 2016. Several large conventions helped the tally, said Rob Enriquez, Visit Spokane’s vice president of sales and marketing.

A National Council of Teachers of English conference in 2021 led to 5,960 room-night bookings.

A National Association of Elementary School Principals conference in 2019 led to 4,795 room-night bookings.

And for October, the Aglow International, 2018 U.S. National Conference led to 2,939 room-night bookings.

Visitors to Spokane County spent $995 million in 2016, providing jobs for more than 10,000 people in the region, according to a report by Dean Runyan Associates.
