U.S. government becoming like Cambodia’s

The U.S. is on the verge of becoming the same as other highly corrupt and least-developed countries that are controlled by dictators who try to convince their powerless masses that they are living in democracies. U.S. citizens, regardless of whether they are Democrats or Republicans, should be equally concerned about recent events.

Just last week, Republican Rep. Rooney of Florida said that there should be a purge of the FBI and Justice Departments. Meanwhile, Speaker Paul Ryan is assisting Rep. Devin Nunes’ efforts to undercut the Mueller investigation every chance he gets. Just a few days ago we learned of Trump’s attempts to stop Jeff Sessions from recusing himself, while Sessions looked for dirt to smear former FBI Director James Comey.

These are exactly the same kind of actions by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen when I was in Cambodia during 2017. This corrupt leader has been in power for 32 years! Sen has completely loaded the Cambodian Justice Department with his own self-appointed and self-serving cronies and eliminated the opposition political party that opposes him. Cambodian reporters frequently get long-term jail sentences. I don’t want my country to take this path.
