EWU police investigating sexual assault

UPDATED: Mon., Jan. 22, 2018, 3:46 p.m.

Eastern Washington University police are investigating the sexual assault over a student over the weekend.

The police department tweeted Monday morning that between 2:30 and 3:50 a.m. Sunday morning, a student was assaulted by a non-student identified only as “Antoine,” but later cleared him as a person of interest. Police said the incident possibly occurred in Morrison Hall, a student housing building on campus.

“There are several other locations they visited that evening, but we don’t know at this point in time where the incident occurred,” said Deputy Police Chief Gary Gasseling.

Police ask anyone with information to call (509) 359-7676 or the TipLine at (509) 359-4286.
