Gonzaga hires Jonas Piibor as men’s tennis coach

From staff reports

Jonas Piibor, who spent the last 10 seasons as associate head coach at Oregon, has been hired as Gonzaga’s men’s tennis coach, GU Director of Athletics Mike Roth announced Thursday.

Piibor replaces Peter MacDonald, who resigned in May to become director of tennis for Sunriver Resort and Sunriver Owners Association in Bend, Oregon.

During Piibor’s tenure with Oregon, the Ducks posted a record of 153-96, including 15 or more wins in each of the last seven seasons. He helped guide the Ducks to three consecutive NCAA Tournament opening-round wins.

Prior to Oregon, Piibor spent five seasons coaching at Indiana State, where he was an NCAA individual championship qualifier in 2000 and 2001.
