Body of man missing since July 2 recovered from Snake River

The body of a Garfield County man missing since July 2 was located Saturday in the Snake River in Whitman County.

Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies say Charley Wilkie Jr. was recovered from the river near Central Ferry Bridge on State Highway 127, where his truck was discovered a week before.

The body was recovered by the Whitman County Coroner with the help of Whitman County marine rescue and sheriff’s deputies. It has been turned over to the Garfield County Coroner, deputies said in a news release.
