Brown needs more campaigning

Thousands of people attended the annual Johnson parade in Whitman county on the Fourth. Also there were lots of politicians and candidates walking and riding, from both sides of the state line.

My congresswoman was there, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, who I’ve only seen on television standing behind Paul Ryan, the speaker of the House, at every opportunity. She worked the very large crowd in Johnson like the experienced pro she is. A dozen young college kids in red T-shirts passed out “Cathy” stickers, and at least twice, I had to tell one of them that I was voting for Lisa Brown.

The problem is, where was she? All of her academic and state legislative experience aside, I came away thinking she’d missed out on a great opportunity. My guess is that CMR shook hands with a thousand people. Where are you going to find that kind of crowd outside of a WSU or Eastern Eagles football game? Someone dropped the ball on this one.

Lisa Brown isn’t being adequately served by her campaign team, if she even has one. Her Facebook page reveals little, aside from two people riding bicycles. I’m certain that she’s surrounded by nice and committed people, however, that’s not what’s needed. She should contact the DNC, ask for help and do it now. Otherwise, it’s going to be another two years of CMR, a genuine Trump sycophant if there ever was one. I’m starting to think that maybe that’s not such a bad idea.
