Non-fatal shooting investigation on Spokane’s South Hill handed over to Spokane County Sheriff’s office

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is taking over a shooting investigation that began Saturday when, police say, a man was likely shot by his brother.

Cpl. Ronald Van Tassel of the Spokane Police Department said the shooting occurred at an apartment complex near 53rd Avenue and Regal Street, where a man was reportedly shot at about 3 p.m. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Van Tassel said the man was not cooperating with the investigation but did tell police that he was shot at an apartment building.

The building, police learned, was not in city limits. The investigation was then handed over to the sheriff’s office.
