The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has scheduled a public webinar Monday to discuses funding challenges, according to a WDFW news release.

Agency officials will explain the cause of a looming $30 million budget shortfall and will discuss budget cuts and proposed funding increases. As part of the solution, the department is considering recreation license fee increases.

The shortfall is partly because of declining numbers of hunters and anglers, combined with decreased funding from the Legislature.

The webinar will start at 7 p.m. Monday.

To take part, visit wdfw.wa.gov and follow the instructions to register. Registration via the website is available through Monday.

For those who wish to listen in, call (415) 655-0052 after 6:45 p.m. Monday and enter code 281-297-953 to participate.
