Sandpoint man killed in Highway 395 collision

An Idaho man was killed in a collision in Stevens County after another driver crossed the center line and struck his vehicle about 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Rebecca A. Clemmer, 42 of Inchelium, Washington, was driving northbound on Highway 395 when she crossed the center line, according to a Washington State Patrol news release. Erik R. Bruhjell, 22, of Sandpoint, was driving south and swerved to avoid Clemmer’s vehicle. Clemmer’s car struck Bruhjell’s, pushing him into the southbound shoulder. Clemmer was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center and Bruhjell was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the news release, drugs or alcohol are believed to have been involved in the crash.
