Trump’s friends
The Trump/Putin summit is now over, but the controversy remains. In barely a month, Trump has managed to disparage and insult the leaders of Canada, Germany and the U.K. He has dissed the G-7 and NATO, all countries which are democratically governed and allies of the U.S. Standing with Putin, he refused to say that Russia had meddled in our elections even though he was briefed on the evidence by our own intelligence agencies.
His new best friend appears to be Putin, the former KGB agent who assassinates his adversaries and invaded Ukraine and annexed Crimea. Russian agents poisoned a British citizen on British soil.
Trump also has shown a fondness for North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, the guy who had his own half-brother killed, assassinated some of his generals, imprisoned thousands of his own citizens and returned an American who had been tortured to the point he died soon after arriving home.
The imposed tariffs will cost American jobs and destroy markets for our agriculture exports with no end game in sight.
For those seeking public office, voters need to know if you support Trump and Putin or America.
