UPDATED: Fri., July 27, 2018, 8:56 p.m.

Police are searching for a man suspected of stabbing a woman Thursday evening at Thornton Murphy Park in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood.

An attempted robbery may be behind the attack.

Police were called to the park on the 3100 block of East 27th Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Officers provided first aid to the victim, who was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Officers say the suspect, described as a 6-foot-tall man wearing a black sweatshirt and gloves, fled south from the park.
