Construction has begun on a new building on Kootenai Health’s main campus in Coeur d’Alene that will provide low-cost overnight accommodations for adults and free stays for pediatric patients and their families.

The Hospitality Center is a collaboration between Kootenai Health, the Community Cancer Fund and Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest.

The center, which will be built on an empty lot on the northwest corner of the Kootenai Health campus, will include 14 adult rooms and six Ronald McDonald House rooms for pediatric-patient families. The adult portion of the center will be called the Walden House, continuing in name the current lodging facility that will remain in operation until the new center opens.

Completion of the new center is expected in early 2019.

opens Liberty Lake office

Red Hawk Fire & Security LLC has opened an office in Liberty Lake, its second location in Washington.

The Boca Raton, Florida-based company will serve commercial clients in Eastern Washington and Idaho from its location at 23403 E. Mission Ave., Suite 2019. It also has an office in Bothell, north of Seattle.

The company, which has 1,400 employees in roughly 45 U.S., designs, installs, tests, inspects and maintains fire, life safety and security products, including access control systems, video surveillance systems and physical security equipment.

New Noodle Express

celebrates grand opening

Noodle Express, a regional fast-casual restaurant specializing in Pan-Asian noodle, rice and vegetable dishes, marked the grand opening of a its new location in Airway Heights on July 20.

The location has been open since the end of May in the Crosspointe Plaza shopping Ccenter, 10510 W. Sunset Highway.

Parent company Mustard Seed was founded in Missoula in 1978, with the Noodle Express concept being introduced in 1992. The company operates Noodle Express and Mustard Seed restaurants in Washington, Idaho and Montana.

In addition the Airway Heights store, Noodle Express restaurants in the region are on North Sullivan Road in Spokane Valley, North Division in Spokane and in Hayden.
