Eastern Washington’s men’s basketball team is returning to the 2K Classic, where it will play four games in November and face major programs Syracuse and Oregon at their respective venues.

The Eagles will also host a 2K Classic subregional at Reese Court, welcoming Wisconsin-Green Bay, Morehead State and Missouri-Kansas City. EWU will face Green Bay on Nov. 16 and either UMKC or Morehead State on Nov. 17. Game times have not been set.

Iowa and UConn are also in the eight-team field but won’t face EWU, which is making its first 2K Classic appearance since 2013.

Eastern opens the invitational, and its season, against Syracuse on Nov. 6 at the Carrier Dome. The Orangemen, who are expected to return each of their starters from last season’s Sweet 16 team, have never faced the Eagles.

The Eagles return to the Northwest on Nov. 9 for a 2K Classic game in Eugene at Matthew Knight Arena, EWU’s first meeting with Oregon since 2011.

EWU, which finished 20-15 last season under first-year head coach Stantay Legans, will release its entire 2018-2019 schedule this summer, the school said.
