Man wounded by gunfire after midnight Wednesday

UPDATED: Wed., June 13, 2018, 10:14 p.m.

Police are searching for a shooting suspect who wounded a man early Wednesday morning in north Spokane.

Officers found the victim in the 5500 block of North Regal Street just after midnight, according to a press release.

The two men had been arguing before the shooting. Police have not released names.

The victim has been taken to a hospital. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Officers using a police dog to search for the suspect. Those efforts failed.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Check at 456-2233.

Washington state’s first library kiosk opens in Spokane’s West Central neighborhood

Spokane Public Library unveiled a new library kiosk outside the West Central Community Center Tuesday, the first automated machine of its kind in Washington state. The machine works like a vending machine and allows people to use their library cards to check out books and movies. Materials also can be returned at the kiosk, which will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
