Spokane Chiefs announce Western Hockey League preseason schedule

The Spokane Chiefs will open their Western Hockey League preseason schedule Aug. 31 against the Portland Winterhawks in Everett, the team announced Wednesday.

Spokane will play six preseason games but none at home.

The Chiefs will play three games during the annual Labor Day Weekend Tournament in Everett, starting with Portland. Spokane will also meet Vancouver on Sept. 1 and Seattle on Sept. 2. All three games in Everett will start at 3 p.m.

Spokane will play two games at the Tri-Cities Tournament in Kennewick, meeting Seattle at 3 p.m. on Sept. 6 and the host Americans at 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 8.

Spokane will complete its preseason schedule back in Kennewick, playing Tri-City at 7:05 p.m. on Sept. 15.
