Man drives himself to hospital after drive-by shooting in West Central neighborhood

Spokane police say a man drove himself to a hospital Friday morning after he was injured in a drive-by shooting in the West Central neighborhood.

The man was in his vehicle when he was shot at about 6:15 a.m. near Belt Street and Nora Avenue, according to a police news release.

Officers contacted the man at the hospital and collected evidence from the shooting scene. They also seized his vehicle and requested a search warrant.

Detectives are looking for suspects. Police did not identify the victim or indicate if the shooting may have been gang-related.

“The victim’s relationship to the shooter is not known at this time which may mean there could be a threat to the community,” the release said.
