A homicide suspect from New York was arrested recently in Spokane after police theorize he drove more than 2,000 miles in a few days.

Robert Norry, 32, of Rochester, New York, was taken into custody Saturday evening after Washington State Patrol troopers learned he was wanted in connection with a killing in Rochester.

Court records say Norry is accused of killing his girlfriend Kelly O’May, 31, and leaving her body with several “stab and slash wounds” in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor.

Nearby was a pair of scissors, and a folding knife with blade open was found on the living room floor.

Rochester police say the victim’s parents found the body on Friday after not hearing from her for a few days. Detectives said the crime scene indicated her wounds were not fresh.

According to the Democrat and Chronicle newspaper in Rochester, prosecutors issued an arrest warrant shortly after O’May’s body was found.

Video surveillance showed Norry at a bar Wednesday evening, and a witness said she let him sleep at her home Thursday morning, according to court records. She told police she saw Norry driving a red 2014 Jeep Patriot.

By Saturday evening, the Jeep was located in Spokane and Norry was arrested.

A search warrant was issued shortly after to search the vehicle.

The Democrat and Chronicle reported that arrangements are being made to transport Norry back to Rochester.
