Women’s golf: Alivia Brown leads Washington State at Meadow Club Women’s Collegiate

Washington State senior Alivia Brown finished with a 2-under-par 70 on Tuesday to finish tied for sixth place at the Meadow Club Women’s Collegiate in Fairfax, California.

Brown finished two rounds at 1-under 143, three shots behind co-medalists Brittany Fan of Colorado and Samantha Gong of San Francisco. The effort was Brown’s second top-10 finish of the spring.

Brown’s Cougars finished at 19-over 595 to place seventh among 16 teams. Washington (573) won the team title by 10 shots over San Francisco.

WSU’s Marie Lund-Hansen tied for 28th at 149.

Idaho’s Sophie Hausmann tied for 10th at 1-over 145, finishing with a 70. Her Vandals tied for 14th at 612.

Gonzaga (624) finished in last place. Francesca Santoni led the Zags with a 152, tying for 41st.

  • Madalyn Ardueser placed eighth and led the Eastern Washington women to third place at the Battle at Boulder Creek in Boulder Creek, Nevada. Ardueser finished three rounds at 16-over 232, three shots ahead of teammate Alexa Clark. The Eagles shot 945 to finish 29 shots behind champion Georgetown in the 12-team field. Georgetown’s Jacquelyn Eleey was the medalist at 9-over 225, one shot ahead of James Madison’s Laura Gomez.
