Suspect arrested in Kennewick in connection with North Spokane homicide
Kennewick Police report that a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting this week in north Spokane has been taken into custody.
At around 7 a.m. Saturday morning, an Kennewick Police officer on routine patrol spotted a vehicle believed to have been involved in the Thursday homicide, which occurred near the 800block of East Hoffman Avenue about 8:30 p.m.
While the officer was waiting for backup to arrive, the vehicle began to drive away and was stopped, according to a Kennewick Police Department news release. The vehicle’s occupants – none of whom were the suspect – were questioned, and police determined the suspect was still inside a nearby residence.
A Tri-City SWAT team arrived and arrested a man, Marcus Arevalo, 33. A second man was also detained.
An investigation is ongoing.
